Your IABC membership begins immediately upon receipt of your application and payment at IABC world headquarters and ends 12 months later. All members belong to the international level of the association. Depending on where you live and work, you are also a member of a region and a chapter (if you live within 50 miles of one.) Chapters and regions set their own dues, so total dues vary.

Your membership belongs to you no matter who paid for it. If your employer pays for your membership and you move to another employer, you retain your membership and your former employer can make a written request to have your successor "assume" the remainder of the paid membership.
