Top Business Communicators Honored at 15th Annual Silver Inkwell Awards
Top business communicators in the Greater Washington and Baltimore regions were honored tonight by IABC/Washington at its annual Silver Inkwell Awards celebration. More than 135 people attended this year's celebration, which was held at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City.
The IABC/Washington Silver Inkwell program recognizes excellence and leadership in the field of business communication. This year's contest drew more than 145 entries in eight different communication categories. Judges ultimately granted 15 Awards of Excellence and 40 Awards of Merit.
The evening's top honor, the Silver Inkwell's “Best of the Best” award, went to the Government Printing Office for its restructuring of its Employee Magazine.
“GPO's entry was outstanding,” said Randi Hicks Rowe, president of IABC/Washington. “The entry provided an excellent example of how the use of a strategic communications process, including strong research before, during and after the restructuring, and the achievement of measurable results, can be used in improving an employee communications magazine. GPO's metrics spoke for themselves.
The Awards of Excellence and the Awards of Merit were presented to the recipients in each category.
